SERENITY MORA
Serenity Mora is a Stagelight Alumni! She is currently residing in Placentia, CA and is attending The Master’s University studying Biblical Studies. Serenity is hoping to start her own photography business while she attends The Master’s University.
Serenity attended Stagelight for 4 seasons and studied Ballet and Contemporary/Modern. Her favorite in-class memories at Stagelight was just being at Stagelight since she always felt like there was never any pressure to be perfect. She also enjoyed laughing and having fun with her friends. Serenity’s favorite on-stage memory at Stagelight was her very last recital and it was the end of her Contemporary routine. As part of the choreography, she had to stand up and walk away and look back at everyone else sitting at the table. At that moment was Serenity’s favorite moment right there. In that moment, she felt so grateful to be apart of Stagelight and knew she always had a family here. Serenity’s years at Stagelight prepared her because it taught her that hard work truly does pay off.
“Here’s my biggest piece of advice. If you ever find yourself wishing that practice (or rehearsal) was over, if you find yourself saying ‘just one more hour and then I can go home” or “just one more performance and then I’m done’, always remember that one day you’ll look back and wish that you had “one more hour” or one more day of doing what you love. So never, ever, take it for granted. The ability to dance and perform is such a blessing, that’s something I wish I realized when I was younger” – Serenity Mora.
