Our Girl Scout Badge Classes at Stagelight Performing Arts have been developed to meet the national program requirements for Girl Scouts of the USA badges. We offer Badge Classes for every level of Girl Scouts, where Girl Scouts earn badges through yoga, dance, and/or theatre activities as a troop. We look forward to partnering with you in your Girl Scouts’ growth and development!

To begin the process of booking a Girl Scout Badge Class, please fill out our Class Reservation Request. 

General information about our programs:

  • Each Badge Class lasts 50 minutes.
  • Each Badge Class costs $14 per child; minimum fee is $112. No additional charge for troop leaders.
  • Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badges” are available for an additional $3 each.
  • Troop leaders are welcome to observe Badge Classes from our observation windows.
  • A 50% non-refundable deposit must be made to secure your Badge Class. Balance must be paid prior to the start of the class. We accept Venmo, Visa, MasterCard, cash, or check.
  • Upon arrival to each Badge Class, troop leaders must have already completed the Roster form, and a Waiver for each participant before class begins.
  • Girl Scouts are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes they can move in (work out clothes preferred) and their Girl Scout vests. Bare feet, socks, or jazz or ballet shoes will be the only forms of footwear acceptable in class.

DAISY BADGE CLASSES

“Respecting Myself and Others” Yoga Adventure

Meets requirements of the Daisy Gloria Petal and the Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Daisies will embark on a fun-filled yoga journey, learning the importance of respecting themselves and others as they practice ways to take care of their bodies and minds through yoga. After reading and discussing the Gloria story, Girl Scouts learn breathing techniques, a yoga sequence the can repeat every day for exercise, and talk about healthy snack options for their growing bodies (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Petal patches not available for purchase).

“Courageous and Strong” Dance Adventure

Meets requirements of the Daisy Tula Petal and Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: After reading and discussing the Tula story together, Daisies create powerful shapes with their bodies and participate in a “living art gallery,” observing how the shapes our bodies make show courage and strength. They then learn movements and perform a simple, empowering dance, with confidence (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Petal patches not available for purchase).

BROWNIE BADGE CLASSES

“My Best Self” Yoga Quest

Meets Steps 1 & 2 of the Brownie My Best Self Badge and the Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Brownies engage in a group discussion, identifying ways in which they are alike and different within their group. They then learns ways to keep themselves happy and healthy through breathing techniques, positive affirmations and empowering yoga poses to help them navigate new emotions (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Brownie patches not available for purchase).

“Dancer” Quest

Meets Steps 1-4 of the Brownie Dancer Badge and the Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Brownies participate in a fun dance warm up, a “dancercise” hiphop routine, and learn how to have expression while performing during this badge class. Brownies will even be given the chance to make up some of their own moves and show the rest of their troop! (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Brownie patches not available for purchase)

JUNIOR BADGE CLASSES

“Staying Fit” Through Yoga

Meets Steps 2 & 3 of the Junior Staying Fit Badge and the Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Juniors look at a variety of food labels and learn how to understand labels at a basic level. Then, girls learn how to use breathing techniques and yoga poses to relax their minds, bodies, and spirit. A discussion at the end of class helps Girl Scouts generate healthy habits they can incorporate into their daily lives (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Girl Scout patches not available for purchase).

“Playing the Past” Dance and Drama Class

Meets Steps 4 & 5 of the Junior Playing the Past Badge requirements and the Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Juniors learn and perform a 1950s/1960s production number from Hairspray the Musical. We suggest that your troop arrive in clothing or costumes that represent that time period to fulfill Step 5 of the Playing the Past badge (fun badge available for purchase: $3; Girl Scout patches not available for purchase).

CADETTE BADGE CLASSES

“Science of Happiness” Yoga Class

Meets one requirement of the Cadette Science of Happiness Badge and Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Cadettes learn their signature strengths and how they can use these strengths to make themselves and others happy. Through a guided meditation and yoga class, Cadettes practice positive thinking and identify how that thinking creates more happiness. Cadettes who earn this badge know how to use their strengths to make themselves and the world around them the happiest it can be. (Fun badge available for purchase: $3; Cadette patch not available for purchase.)

“Public Speaking” Drama Class

Meets one requirement of the Cadette Public Speaking Badge and Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Cadettes find their voice by learning how to convey different emotions through acting. They work with their troop to create a piece to perform with an emphasis on girl-led teamwork. Cadettes who earn this badge have increased confidence as a result of finding their voice and inner performer. (Fun badge available to purchase: $3; Senior patch not available for purchase.)

SENIOR BADGE CLASSES

“Women’s Health” Yoga Class

Meets one of the requirements of the Senior Women’s Health Badge and Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Seniors learn the importance of good health and taking care of their bodies. This is achieved by learning how fashion fads and beauty practices impact their health, developing techniques to stay emotionally happy through a relaxing yoga class,  and how to make healthy food choices to keep them strong and healthy. Completion of this badge helps Seniors understand how to support a happy and healthy lifestyle. (Fun badge available to purchase: $3; Senior patch not available for purchase.)

 “Troupe Performer” Drama Class

Meets one of the requirements of the Senior Troupe Performer Badge and Stagelight Performing Arts “fun badge”: Seniors learn about different performance styles (improv, stage, and camera), choose a pre-written show to rehearse as a team, and then put on a show! Completion of this badge proves Seniors know how to organize a team of people and put together a terrific “stagelight-worthy” performance.  (Fun badge available to purchase: $3; Senior patch not available for purchase.)
