KATY CORTINES

Katy has been dancing on stage since the age of five. She has studied jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, musical theater, modern, cheerleading, and gymnastics. In college, Katy was a member of the “All American Dance Team” which traveled internationally to Hong Kong, Australia, China, Sweden and Estonia. Katy was a featured dancer in Chill E.B.’s music video “1 Nine Ninety” where she could showcase her love for Hip Hop. Katy was hired by Disney to dance in various parades including “Pardi Gras,” “Celebration USA,” and “A Christmas Fantasy.” She also performed as a special event dancer in “Stars & Stripes,” and was an original cast member of the Disneyland river show “Fantasmic!” Katy segued her years of performing into teaching workshops and mentoring competitive dance teams. She was also a judge on ESPN’s dance show “Venice Beach Breakdown.”  For the next 15 years Katy was an instructor at various dance studios in Orange County and brought many of her teams success in the world of competition dance. She enjoyed choreographing musicals for many theater companies during this time as well. Katy then decided to focus on family and has two wonderful boys who keep her very busy.  Currently, Katy is enjoying doing what she loves most by being in the studio and watching her young students grow and develop into beautiful dancers, people and performers.
