Congratulations to graduating senior, Savannah! Savannah is graduating from La Habra HS where she was an active member in their Theatre and Dance Production programs.

💜 Savannah is headed to Arizona Christian University where she’ll be working toward a BA in Behavioral Health and a minor in Music.

💜 She is excited to grow, take college courses in subjects that interest her, and join a community she feels comfortable and accepted in. She is nervous about making new friends and to be on her own without her mom to rely on.

💜 Savannah began taking classes at Stagelight when she was 10. She has studied Tap, Jazz, Contemp/Modern, Musical Theatre, A Cappella, Acting, and Acting for Camera at Stagelight.

💜 Her favorite performance at Stagelight was “Here Comes the Sun.” She remembers learning it at our old location and practicing it all the time. She remembers that Contemp/Modern class as a really fun class with the “most fun girls.”

💜 Some of her favorite memories of being a Stagelighter are laughing so much with Gia and then getting separated in class, and Ms. Danielle’s Acting classes because they provided such a safe space she looked forward to returning to every week.

💜 She will miss dancing with people she’s known forever when she leaves Stagelight.

💜 To all the Stagelighters still growing through our programs, Savannah says, “Take advantage of every opportunity you get, and spend lots of time with your family and friends. When people say, ‘Time flies,’ they really mean it.”

Savannah, we are so proud of the incredible woman, human, and performer you have become. We will miss you in our classes and on our stages. You will forever be “so silly,” and we can’t wait to watch you take on the world! 💜⭐️🎼

Alyssa Gramer is Co-Owner and an Instructor at Stagelight Performing Arts. She earned a BA from Chapman University in Advertising with a Minor in Graphic Design and a Teaching Credential in Physical Education/Dance from Cal State Fullerton. Her performance credits include Disney and Fullerton Civic Light Opera. She has extensive experience in teaching, choreography, and show direction.

“One of my earliest memories is of something that happened during first grade: during recess, I would gather my friends and teach them different dances. Looking back, I can see that that set the foundation of what would be a lifelong role as a teacher. Participating in dance and musical theatre as a child gave me the focus, determination, confidence and bravery it took to land many successful performance and teaching jobs. Arts classes have allowed me to be creative and keep a healthy perspective on what is important in life. I truly believe that the performing arts should play a crucial role in every child’s life.” ~Alyssa
