Vivian Vo

Jazz, Jazz & Hiphop Combo

Vivian is a native of Ontario, California. She has trained in various styles such as Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Pom, and Hip Hop while exploring her creative movement. Vivian was a part of the Alta Loma High School’s nationally ranked varsity dance team and served as head captain her senior year. She is currently studying at California State University, Long Beach, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Political Science. Vivian joined the United Spirit Association family in 2023 and has instructed many campers in multiple styles. Additionally, she serves as a legality judge for USA song/pom and dance competitions and as an Envision Dance Choreographer under Varsity Spirit, choreographing for high school teams across the country. Vivian is continuing her dance journey in the Los Angeles/Orange County area and exercising her choreographic skills.

What do you love most about your job?

I love sharing my love of dance to hard-working, determined students! I enjoy watching them improve weekly, gaining new skills, and having “ah ha” moments! The connections I make with my students are ones I strongly value!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym, cooking with my siblings, and relaxing at the beach!

What are 3 fun facts about you?

Some fun facts about me is I’m obsessed with coffee, I used to play golf, and I have two sisters who also dance!

Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?

I decided to pursue being a dance teacher once I taught my first jazz dance class at 16 years old! I fell in love with everything about it from choreographing to giving pep talks backstage to picking out the right music for a routine!

If you weren’t a teacher, what other job could you see yourself pursuing?

I would be a lawyer! I have a strong interest in politics, particularly the justice system.

What’s your favorite musical, movie, and/or show?

My favorite show is Desperate Housewives!
