KYLE SHORT
Private Vocal/Piano Instructor, Group Vocal, and Musical Theatre Song & Dance
Kyle is a veteran performer, musician, and Music Director born and raised in Southern California. He has been seen live on stage in such places as the Hollywood Bowl (Mahler 8th Symphony), Segerstrom Center for the Arts (Beethoven 9th), the Lawrence Welk Resorts Theatre, Lego Land California, and others. While he is not performing or music directing, Kyle is a composer, orchestrator, and transcriber for commercials, film, media, musical theatre, and radio. Some recent projects include Givenchy Noir Perfume, Crest Toothpaste, Frontline Plus, The KillJoys (IMDB film), Metro PCS (online campaign SKEE TV), Dragula the Musical (Transcriber for M&M Productions), and a new original musical in the works. He is also a recent recipient of an ITL Award (Inland Valley Theatre) for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the Candlelight Dinner Theatre. His inspiration came mostly from his father at an early age, but eventually, he received coaching from classical pianist and teacher Dr. Janice Park, composer Dr. Daniel Luzko, and Jazz improvisation/theory from pianist Jan Jordan. He has also received vocal training from Joshua Carr (Seth Riggs Speech Level), and has studied the exercises of Brett Manning (speech level). Kyle is an experienced teacher for Piano/Voice/Composition & Theory with over 15 years of instructing and coaching experience in Jazz, Theatre, Classical, and modern music. He uses all of his knowledge of the different areas of the arts to create a well-rounded and fun learning experience, that can be catered and customized for any student. Kyle is currently receiving a degree in Orchestration for Film/Tv/Media and Berklee College of Music.
