Josiah started dancing at 12 years old, following YouTube tutorials at home. He eventually began training and competing in highschool with his first crew “Phresh Movement Dance Crew” as well as with his high school dance team. In college he trained and competed with the collegiate competitive team “Prime.D”. He also began training in classical styles, studying Modern, Jazz, and Ballet until graduating with a BFA in Dance from Cal State University Fullerton in 2021. Josiah started teaching shortly after that and continues to share his love for dance and movement with his students.

What do you love most about your job?

I love getting to dance and being able to share it!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Hanging out with family and friends, and playing games!

What are 3 fun facts about you?

1. I can solve a Rubik’s cube.

2. I have a very small Dachshund named Jane.

3. I enjoy origami.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?

Truthfully I have a separate 9 to 5. Teaching feels like something fun the I get to do when I’m done with my workday!

If you weren’t a teacher, what other job could you see yourself pursuing?

Well my other job is in finance, so if I had to pick something else… I can say I’ve always wanted to work at an Apple Store!

What’s your favorite musical, movie, and/or show?

Interstellar. I love a lot of different things but Interstellar is in its own category for me.
