Evan Martorana

Tap and Musical Theatre

Evan was born in El Dorado Hills in Northern California area. He has been performing in Musical Theatre for nearly twenty years, and has been tap dancing for the same amount of time. He grew up being taught Tap Dancing by his mother, who still teaches today. Evan has taught tap dancing at many dance studios in the Sacramento area before leaving to University. He then moved to Southern California, had graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre at CSUF. He is now a current cast member at the Disneyland Resort, and continues to perform in regional theatres as a performing artist. Some notable shows he has done were 42nd Street at Musical Theatre West, A Christmas Carol at the Rose Center Theatre, and SpongeBob the Musical at CSUF.

25/26 Season is my first season!

 
What do you love most about your job?

Watching students grow, and connecting  with them as a mentor 

 
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Performing in Musicals, walking with friends, going to exciting parks, Letterboxd movie talks, writing letters to penpals, traveling across the country

 
What are 3 fun facts about you?

1. I have a twin sister

Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?

I love performing, I meet a lot of exciting people in this industry, I meet a lot of friends, I want to keep the style of tap dancing alive

 
If you weren’t a teacher, what other job could you see yourself pursuing?

Cruise ship performer, Disney choreographer 

 
What’s your favorite musical, movie, and/or show?

Singing in the Rain, Hunchback of Notredame
