BALLET TECH/PRE-POINTE

Poise. Strength. Flexibility. Artistry. Discipline. Ballet is well-known as a dance form that builds these qualities in any willing student who commits to the focused practice of ballet. In this class, students focus on building strength, flexibility, and proper alignment to lay the foundation for the demands of pointe work in a supportive and structured environment.

Foundations of Ballet: Pre-Pointe Training

“En pointe” is the ballet dancer’s ultimate dream. Hearing those words, “It’s time to get fitted for your first pair of pointe shoes,” is a memory no dancer ever forgets. But before a dancer hears those words, they must complete a Ballet Tech/Pre-Pointe class that continues to help them gain the strength, turnout, and flexibility required to go en pointe. Dancers who train en pointe are well known for becoming tenacious, determined, and committed people–on and off the stage–and our Ballet Tech/Pre-Pointe class is an important part of the journey to Pointe. Look below to see what we offer in our classes:

Dancers in Ballet Tech/Pre-Pointe class must be enrolled in at least one additional weekly ballet class per week and have instructor approval.

A feature in your Customer Portal–Evaluations! These stars represent the progress your child has made in each of their classes. In the future, you’ll be able to track your child’s skill progression throughout the year, but for the first phase of this rollout, Evaluations are here to help you determine which classes your child is approved to enroll in next season.

Can my child enroll in a class that is intended for an age group slightly older than theirs?

We typically allow for a standard six-month grace period surrounding the specified age limits. It is advisable to initially enroll her in a class appropriate for her current age group, especially for the first half of the season.

If the grace period exceeds six months beyond the age limits, or if the instructor advises considering a different age group, instructor approval may be required.

There are so many classes my child wants to try, can we do a trial for as many classes as we want?

We only offer a one-time free trial per student. Our one-time free trial is available only during our open enrollment periods. Trial classes are subject to availability and do not guarantee a spot in the class.
However, we offer drop-in passes that you can purchase through the Customer Portal to try out as many classes as you’d like.
