Ava Vo

Jazz and Contemporary/Modern

Ava is from Ontario, California. She has been trained in several styles such as Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Pom, and Hip Hop. Ava was a part of the nationally ranked varsity dance team at Alta Loma High School, is a USA national champion, and co-captain junior year and head captain senior year. She is a current college student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, studying Early Childhood Studies, Bachelor of Arts. Ava joined the United Spirit Association family in 2024 and has instructed many campers in multiple styles. She is also a legality judge for USA song/pom and dance competitions. Ava has choreographed competitive solos for other dancers and herself and her choreography has been awarded 1st place at CATD.

What do you love most about your job?

I love celebrating new wins with kids as I watch them progress and grow.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy doing yoga, journaling, and having a day outside the house specifically at the beach with sweet drinks and snacks.

What are 3 fun facts about you?

1. I’m born on the year of the dog.
2. I love podcasts.
3. I love coconut flavored things.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?

I’m looking forward to becoming a school teacher because I want to be the teacher who I needed when I was younger for others.

If you weren’t a teacher, what other job could you see yourself pursuing?

Movie director or movie editor.

What’s your favorite musical, movie, and/or show?

My all time favorite movie is Flipped.
