How long have you been working with Stagelight?
The 23/24 Season is my first season

What do you love most about your job?
I love watching the progress and confidence they build in the process.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy staying active weather it be taking a dance class or working out, I really enjoy physical activities.

What are 3 fun facts about you?
1. I enjoy ice cream even on cold days
2. Cat lover, actually have 3 at home.
3. Everyone in my family dances, my wife , son and daughter.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?
I enjoy performing and learning about dance and what better way to pass this passion on than teaching
and coaching.

If you weren’t a teacher, what other job could you see yourself pursuing?
If I wasn’t teaching I could see myself working with my hands like construction or plumbing.

What’s your favorite musical, movie, and/or show?
My favorite musical has to be Phantom of the Opera. My favorite movie would have to be between Staying Alive or Mean Girls. My favorite show would have to be Avatar the Last Airbender.

ALBERTO HERNANDEZ

HipHop Instructor

Mr. Alberto has been teaching dance for over 20 years in various studio, school programs, parks and recreation programs and high schools across southern California. He has worked with competition groups and set choreography for many stage performances. Mr. Alberto has been trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop all of which he has implemented in his teachings. Alberto has attended and performed for many college dance programs as a student and guest performer these include Orange Coast College, Cerritos College, El Camino College and Los Angeles Trade Tech. While attending college Alberto was furthering his dance education at various professional studios in the Los Angeles area that include; Edge Performing Arts Center, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Moro Landis Dance Studio (also known as Millennium Dance Complex) and Pasadena Civic Ballet. Alberto has worked with Black Eyed Peas, Redfoo and Weezer and has performed on stage alongside The Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, National Folkloric Ballet of Spain at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and California Philharmonic just to name a few. It wasn’t long before Alberto also found his passion for teaching and venture out to work with many students ranging in ages from 3 years old to adults. Mr. Alberto continues to further his dance education in hopes to motivate and bring new methods of dance training to his students.
