Born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, CA, Chelsi has been dancing since the age of three. She has been trained in ballet her whole life, and has also had training is styles including pointe, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, and some tap. At the age of 15, Chelsi began teaching and choreographing for her hometown studio. In 2009, Chelsi was accepted into the Sierra Ballet Theater Company and was a member and principal dancer until its hiatus in 2012. For further training, Chelsi attended the Young Americans Performing Arts college from 2014-17. Through her schooling she had many opportunities to tour, perform, teach, and travel all over the world.
In the fall of 2017, Chelsi moved to Anaheim, CA to pursue a professional career. As she continues to go to auditions and hone her craft, she finds herself finding a deeper and deeper passion for teaching. Teaching is something Chelsi has always loved! “There’s something so magical to be able to watch my students grow, learn, and become confident and proud of themselves,” she states. She is excited to have the opportunity to be part of the Stagelight team and share her passion with each and every student that walks through the door.
“Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.” – Martha Graham
